Sunderland are weighing summer options with Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Lorient midfielder Arthur Avom among those linked. Europa League commitments after a seventh-place finish under Régis Le Bris mean added depth is likely to be targeted.
For Avom, Bild claims Union Berlin are tracking the 21-year-old, with Bournemouth and Sunderland also watching the Cameroon international. The defensive midfielder made 31 Ligue 1 outings last term, scoring two and providing one assist.
Regarding Wan-Bissaka, The West Ham Way reports Everton are keen on the 28-year-old and that Sunderland, Newcastle United, Fulham and Fenerbahce are monitoring his situation. The outlet also suggests Everton are currently the most advanced and West Ham could seek a £15-20 million fee.
The former Crystal Palace and Manchester United defender, now at West Ham, would be an ambitious addition who offers proven defensive quality. Sunderland already have Trai Hume and Nordi Mukiele on the right, and Hume’s flexibility has been useful.
Le Bris’ familiarity with the French market and Lorient could make Avom a profile of interest. Midfield is competitive, yet Sunderland may still explore younger, high-upside options.
For now, neither link appears advanced from a Sunderland standpoint. Any moves would also need to fit Florent Ghisolfi’s plans around wages, exits and squad registration.
