Sunderland are being linked with Premier League defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Lorient midfielder Arthur Avom as Florent Ghisolfi lines up summer business. After finishing seventh under Régis Le Bris, they face another Premier League season and Europa League commitments.
Bild claims Union Berlin are tracking Avom and could move this summer, and that Bournemouth and Sunderland are also monitoring the Cameroon international. The 21-year-old defensive midfielder made 31 Ligue 1 appearances last season, with two goals and one assist, and already has senior caps.
Le Bris knows the French market well from his Lorient background. Midfield competition is strong, but European football could push Sunderland to assess younger, high-upside options.
The West Ham Way reports that Everton are keen on Wan-Bissaka, with Sunderland, Newcastle United, Fulham and Fenerbahce also watching the 28-year-old full-back’s situation.
The same report suggests Everton are currently the most advanced and that a fee of £15-20 million could be sought. Wan-Bissaka has extensive top-flight experience with Crystal Palace, Manchester United and West Ham.
Sunderland already have Trai Hume and Nordi Mukiele on the right, and Hume’s versatility offers cover. For now, the Wan-Bissaka link looks one to watch rather than anything advanced.
