Sunderland are being linked with Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Lorient midfielder Arthur Avom as they plan for another Premier League season and Europa League football after finishing seventh under Régis Le Bris.

Bild claims Union Berlin are tracking Avom, with Bournemouth and Sunderland also watching the Cameroon international, which could complicate the Bundesliga side’s pursuit.

The 21-year-old defensive midfielder made 31 Ligue 1 appearances last season, scoring twice and supplying one assist, and already has senior caps for Cameroon. Le Bris’ knowledge of the French market and European demands could make a young option appealing.

The West Ham Way reports Everton are among the clubs keen on Wan-Bissaka, with Sunderland, Newcastle United, Fulham and Fenerbahce also said to be monitoring the situation.

The West Ham Way has also indicated Everton are currently the most advanced and that West Ham could seek a £15m to £20m fee. The right-back has extensive Premier League experience with Crystal Palace, Manchester United and West Ham. Sunderland have Trai Hume and Nordi Mukiele on the right, and the link appears one to watch rather than anything advanced, particularly with Everton said to be further along.
