Sunderland share Elvis-themed hummel kit teaser after 2-1 Chelsea win | OneFootball

After the 2-1 win over Chelsea that sealed Europa League football for 2026/27, Sunderland fans saw a scoreboard teaser for hummel’s next kits, which could be their biggest yet. The crest sat left and Elvis Presley’s iconic trademark right, both pink on black, hinting at a link-up with the Presley estate.

Supporters later received an email titled 'Elvis - Episode One' in the same colours. It read 'some things are meant to be', nodding to Can't Help Falling in Love, and 'Arriving this summer'. "We thank the club for backing us because they would have had other offers but they’ve stuck their neck out and gone for Hummel," Burke said, speaking to the i paper.

'Wise Men Say' has soundtracked Sunderland’s rise and looks set to be marked through future kit ranges. The pink and black palette could nod to Presley’s early-career suit, depicted in Baz Luhrmann’s 2022 biopic starring Austin Butler.

The club and hummel have extended their partnership on improved commercial terms. "We felt the partnership could be big but it’s turned out even bigger than either side thought so our financials of what we’re offering have increased."

Hummel are expected to release two retro ranges next season based on 1988-1994 designs. The three main kits and ranges are due in June, July and August, and the brand are expected to have a strong presence on the USA pre-season tour.
