The Black Cats have looked like they could lose winger Tommy Watson on transfer deadline day, with Brighton trying to sign him, but have themselves been moving for Liverpool’s Jayden Danns.

Watson to Brighton appears as if it will not happen and so too does Sunderland’s attempt to land Seagulls star Simon Adingra.

According to talkSPORT, the move to Sunderland for Adingra is a ‘non-starter’ as ‘neither player nor’ Brighton are keen for it to happen.

As things stand, it does not appear that Sunderland will be able to land Adingra.

An Ivory Coast international, signing Adingra would have been something of a coup for Sunderland as they chase promotion.

Sunderland have also been keen on Leicester City winger Kasey McAteer.

Their offer of a loan with an obligation to buy though has been rejected by the Foxes.
