Sunderland are among Premier League clubs assessing Millwall winger Femi Azeez before the summer window.

TEAMtalk reports that Sunderland have scouted the in-form 23-year-old in recent weeks, with Everton, Brentford, Brighton & Hove Albion, Fulham and Leeds United also monitoring his development.

Crystal Palace are viewed as showing the strongest early interest as they weigh attacking reinforcements. Azeez joined Millwall in August 2024 from Reading for a substantial undisclosed fee after 11 goals in 89 appearances.

He debuted in a 0-0 draw with Hull City, then struck a stoppage-time equaliser in a 1-1 draw against Sunderland in November. His path was unconventional, released by Watford at 14 before non-league spells.

He broke through at Northwood at 16 in the eighth tier, then moved to Wealdstone and joined Reading’s academy in 2019. A 2020 loan to Bracknell Town preceded his Reading debut in March 2021 and first senior goal later that year against Preston North End.

Azeez made 52 appearances with eight goals in 2023-24 as Reading battled to secure their League One status after a points deduction. Reading triggered a one-year extension in May 2024 to 2025, before Millwall signed him later that summer.

Born in England and raised in Northwood, he has Nigerian and Spanish heritage. With several top-flight clubs tracking him, the coming months could be decisive for one of the Championship’s emerging attackers.
