Sunderland’s summer looks set to be busy, with interest in key players and fresh links to potential recruits after a solid return to the Premier League.

Areanapoli suggests Napoli would not let Frank Anguissa leave for less than €20m, roughly £17.4m, while The Sun reports Chelsea and Liverpool are monitoring goalkeeper Robin Roefs and that Sunderland would seek about £50m.

Lutsharel Geertruida, on loan from RB Leipzig, is not expected to be signed permanently and is due back in Germany, though his longer-term position there remains unclear. Liverpool have previously been credited with interest, with Arne Slot having worked with him at Feyenoord.

Everton are also said to be tracking the defender, with scouts having watched him during his spell at the Stadium of Light. Leipzig are believed to want more than £20m and any bid could test that valuation.

Anguissa, 30, previously with Fulham, is again linked after thriving at Napoli. A midfielder of that profile would be a high-impact addition, but his age and cost mean any move would be a significant call for the club.

Roefs, 23, joined from NEC Nijmegen for an initial £9m last summer and has impressed in his debut Premier League season. His value is now said to have risen markedly.
