Inter have once again shown why they are top of the Serie A table, and favourites for the Scudetto.

The Nerazzurri jumped out to a 2-0 lead against Sassuolo, with Inter defender Federico Dimarco providing both assists.

Inter opened the lead with a strong header from Yann Aurel Bisseck directly off of Dimarco's corner.

They increased their advantage in transition as Dimarco whipped in a low, firm cross to set-up a simple tap-in for Marcus Thuram.

With those two assists, the Italy international has now set a Serie A record for most assists (9) from a defender after 24 league matches played. 

Following four wins in their previous five matches, Inter look poised to extend their lead at the top of the table to eight points, having played one match more than second-placed Milan.
