Liverpool will entertain Leeds United at Anfield on Thursday evening as they look to secure a good result at home in the Premier League. The Reds managed to earn a hard-fought 2-1 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers recently, so they would be keen on keeping their good form going in the league.

Arne Slot will set his players up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make one tweak to his first XI for this game. Dominik Szoboszlai could play from the start of this contest, while Federico Chiesa makes way for him and drops to the bench.

Defence

Alisson Becker will feature in between the sticks for the Reds as expected. Ibrahima Konate will continue to play alongside Virgil Van Dijk at the heart of the Liverpool backline as they look to keep a solid shape on the defensive end of the field.

Jeremie Frimpong will fill in as the right-back, while Milos Kerkez looks to give a good account of himself on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will get the freedom to go forward and express themselves inside the Leeds half.

Conor Bradley and Andy Robertson will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

Midfield

Curtis Jones will anchor the midfield along with Ryan Gravenberch as they look to establish their dominance over the opposition at the centre of the park.

The talented trio of Florian Wirtz, Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai will function just ahead of them as part of the Liverpool attack. All three of them need to be at their best if the Reds are to come out on top this weekend.

Trey Nyoni, Cody Gakpo and Rio Ngumoha will be available for selection on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the second half if required.

Attack

Hugo Ekitike will lead the charge for the Merseyside club up top. He would be eager to find the back of the net after failing to do so versus Wolves recently.

Federico Chiesa will be named on the bench as he waits for his chance to make an impact in the final quarter of the clash if needed.
