Tanguy Nianzou is seeking a fresh start at Lille after an early PSG exit and a curtailed stay at Bayern, then a spell with Sevilla. According to L'Équipe, the French centre-back chose to sign his first professional deal with Bayern in 2020 rather than commit to PSG’s project.
Launched very young at PSG, Nianzou left Paris that summer and joined Bayern Munich. He had emerged from the club’s academy and made the move at 18.
In July 2020, amid the Covid crisis, Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic introduced him as one of Europe’s standout talents, the club openly pleased to prise him from PSG’s academy.
That enthusiasm contrasted with PSG counterpart Leonardo, who appeared crestfallen and whose relations with the player’s entourage were strained.
Six years on, after repeated injuries and too few matches, Nianzou has been unveiled by Lille and will now try to relaunch his career.
