OTB Sports, the agency representing João Pedro Tchoca, has condemned Torino’s medical verdict after his proposed move collapsed. The agency said in a statement that the club’s assessment was excessively abstract and based on implausible projections.
Tchoca passed initial tests, but Torino identified a bone condition in the defender’s knee and cancelled the deal. The centre-back had been poised to join until the end of the European season with a possible permanent transfer.
The agreement, reached late January, could have been worth up to R$ 43.8 million to Corinthians, which would have made Tchoca one of the most lucrative centre-backs in the club’s history.
OTB also indicated Corinthians have sufficient grounds to consider a FIFA claim for damages, if the board deems it appropriate. The agency stressed its criticism does not extend to Torino’s football department, expressing respect for the way director Gianluca Petrachi handled the situation.
Tchoca will resume normal training at Corinthians on Monday 2 February and will wear shirt four for the remainder of the season. He returns to compete for a starting spot against Gustavo Henrique, André Ramalho, Gabriel Paulista and Cacá. His contract runs until 30 November 2030.
