Corinthians welcomed João Pedro Tchoca back to training on Tuesday after a proposed loan to Torino was cancelled over medical concerns. Coach Dorival Júnior offered reassurance over the 22-year-old's recovery.

"He does not have to worry about anything. I will observe his reaction, which today was very positive, and I do not see problems." According to Meu Timao, he was speaking on its YouTube channel.

Tchoca had been released by the club after agreement on a loan to the Italian side, having passed initial medicals. Further assessments identified a bone condition described as arthritis, and Torino withdrew as the European window shut, keeping the reason private to avoid harming future deals.

Addressing José Martínez, Dorival said: "No, there is nothing yet. I will not sideline him, he is a club player, I do not have that right. I understand what is happening in Venezuela, but there could have been more care."

The Venezuelan midfielder remained in his country after border closures amid the local political crisis, and his passport has yet to be issued. The club were told he began the process on 13 January.
