Tensions Boil Between PSG and France Over Dembele, Doue Injuries
The French Football Federation FFF's stepped in to defend national team coach Didier Deschamps and his staff after row erupted with Paris Saint Germain over player injuries.
Tensions rose after Ousmane Dembele picked up injury during France’s 2 - 0 win against Ukraine in the 2026 World cup qualifiers. PSG issued statement blaming France’s medical staff with concerns also surrounding youngster Desire Doue.
FFF president Philippe Diallo responded directly to PSG chairman Nasser Al Khelaifi stressing full confidence in Deschamps and his medical team.
He underlined the importance of cooperation between clubs and the federation especially given the congested international calendar.
Ahead of Tuesday’s clash with Iceland, Deschamps addressed the situation:
"I’m sad for Dembele & Doue because we lose 2 important player. But we always act professionally respecting every player’s condition. PSG isn't our rival .. Iceland is and that’s tomorrow"
