Terrão graduate matches Yuri as Corinthians’ 2026 top scorer, midfielder climbs assist chart

On the night of this Wednesday (28), Corinthians hosted Bahia at Vila Belmiro for the first round of the 2026 Brazilian Championship and ended up being defeated by a score of 2-1, after a comeback. Midfielder Breno Bidon, at the start of the second half, scored the goal for Corinthians. The result leaves the Corinthians team with zero points, at the bottom of the table.

The goal allowed the "Filho do Terrão" to tie with Yuri Alberto as the top scorer for Corinthians in the 2026 season with two goals. Previously, the 20-year-old had two goals scored for the club in 101 games (2024 and 2025), a mark that needed to be matched in just six games this year. The club's number 7 from Parque São Jorge was the main highlight of the team in the match, earning a score of 8.2 on Sofascore, a sports statistics app.

In the 78 minutes he was on the field, until being replaced by Gui Negão, he had: one key pass, 26/31 accurate passes (84%), 45 actions with the ball, four fouls suffered, 1/1 successful dribbles (100%), 7/9 ground duels won, 1/2 aerial duels won, one clearance, one interception, 1/2 tackles won, and four ball recoveries.

Star of the 2024 Copinha, Breno Bidon was promoted to the professional squad in the same year and quickly became a starter for the team. He participated in the team's surge in the Brasileirão that year (from the relegation zone to the Copa Libertadores qualifiers), being an important piece in the victories of the Campeonato Paulista and Copa do Brasil, both in 2025, against Palmeiras and Vasco – in the latter, he initiated the play for the second goal. In total, he has scored four goals and provided three assists in 107 matches (81 as a starter).

Now, after being defeated by Bahia, playing as the home team, in the Brasileirão debut, Corinthians turns its attention to the final of the Supercopa do Brasil. Next Sunday (1), at 4 pm (Brasília time), the Alvinegro will face Flamengo at the Mané Garrincha Stadium in Brasília.

Corinthians' number 8, who assisted Breno Bidon's goal at 12 minutes of the first half, returned to participate in a team goal after almost three months – since then, he played in 10 games and had not scored or assisted. Previously, his last goal involvement for the Alvinegro was on November 2, 2025, in Corinthians' 2-0 victory against Grêmio in Itaquera, during the 31st round of the Brazilian Championship.

As a result, the midfielder entered the team's assist ranking for the season, alongside Ryan (no longer with the club), Vitinho, and Pedro Raul. This was only his third match of the year for Corinthians. According to Sofascore, his rating against Bahia was 7.6. In total, he had 1/3 accurate crosses, 34/42 accurate passes (81%), 60 actions with the ball, 1/2 successful dribbles, three fouls suffered, and 4/5 ground duels won.

Since 2024 at Corinthians, he has scored 15 goals and provided 24 assists in 104 games (86 as a starter). The Argentine was crucial in the team's surge in the Brasileirão two years ago (from the relegation zone to the Copa Libertadores qualifiers), being the tournament's assist leader (10), and also participated in the victories of the Campeonato Paulista and Copa do Brasil, both in 2025, against Palmeiras and Vasco, respectively.
