Real Madrid, Barcelona and Athletic top the appearance list with 94 seasons each, featuring in every campaign since 1929. According to AS, they lead the 10 clubs with most seasons in Spain’s Primera División.
Madrid have won the league 36 times, the most in history. Barcelona hold 28 titles, second on the roll of honour, while Athletic have eight.
Valencia follow on 90 seasons and boast six titles. Atlético de Madrid and Espanyol have each reached 88 seasons, with Atlético de Madrid lifting 11 championships.
Sevilla stand on 81 seasons and won the league in 1946. Real Sociedad have 78 seasons and two titles, secured in 1981 and 1982.
Real Betis and Celta de Vigo have both registered 59 seasons in the top flight. Real Betis were champions in 1935, and Celta de Vigo were founded on 23 August 1923.
Real Sociedad, Espanyol, Atlético de Madrid, Athletic, Barcelona and Real Madrid were among the 10 clubs that launched the competition in 1929.
