FLW's Sheffield United fan pundit has given his verdict on Harrison Burrows' impact since joining in the summer
This article is part of Football League World's 'Terrace Talk' series, which provides personal opinions from our FLW Fan Pundits regarding the latest breaking news, teams, players, managers, potential signings and more…
Harrison Burrows has cemented himself as a key figure for Sheffield United since making the summer switch from Peterborough United.
The Blades will be happy to have won the race to his signature, with TBR Football reporting in July that promotion rivals Leeds United were keen to hijack the move.
However, Sheffield United managed to get the deal over the line, and the left-back has gone on to become a crucial part of Chris Wilder’s side.
The 23-year-old has featured 27 times in the Championship, contributing five goals and one assist.
When asked to sum up Burrows’ time at the club so far, FLW’s Sheffield United fan pundit Jimmy, from Blades Ramble, claimed that he’s been one of the best signings they’ve made since suffering relegation.
He believes that the Yorkshire outfit have done well with his signing, and that the player is ready to compete at a Premier League level amid their promotion push.
“Harrison Burrows is one of the best signings we’ve made in the summer, and we’ve made a lot of good signings,” Jimmy told Football League World.
“I think any club, such as Leeds or whoever else, that was considering an offer for him, or tried to get him, will be very unhappy that we have got him.
“Because he started off well, and he’s just got better and better.
“He’s obviously now comfortable going further up the pitch, scored a few for us, scored two in two in penalties, he looks really assured in that left-back position.
“I think he’s the best left-back in the league, and I’m quite comfortable saying that.
“Wilder quite rates him as a footballer clearly because he’s tried him further forward as well, he trusts him as a winger, he’s trusted him as a centre-midfielder.
“That hasn’t really worked, but it shows the value he puts in him as a player.
“Harrison Burrows will be able to step up to the Premier League, and he has been a brilliant signing for Sheffield United.”
Sheffield United are currently second in the Championship table, two points behind leaders Leeds.
Burrows was a smart addition by the Blades, as he was someone that obviously fit what Wilder is trying to do.
He has fit like a glove so far, going from strength to strength over the last several months.
If the club can gain promotion, then he will be a very valuable asset for life back in the top flight.
