“The coach spoke to me…” Man United star makes decision on his future after Amorim talks

Portuguese international Bruno Fernandes has decided to stay at Manchester United despite receiving strong interest from the Middle East.

Manchester United are enjoying an incredible run in the Premier League, having won three games in a row. The Red Devils have climbed up to fourth on the points table following their 4-2 win over Brighton on Saturday.

Ruben Amorim has certainly managed to turn things around after a disastrous start to the campaign, and skipper Bruno Fernandes played a big part in it, with his incredible performances.

The Portuguese international’s future has been a big talking point of late. While he still has a few years left on his deal, he has been linked with a move away since the start of the summer. But according to Flashscore via Fichajes, Fernandes has decided to continue at Old Trafford for now.

Bruno Fernandes turned down lucrative offers

The 31-year-old was subject to a lot of interest from the Middle East during the summer transfer window. Saudi Pro League clubs were ready to offer him astronomical wages that Manchester United could never really match. Despite those offers, Fernandes rejected the opportunity to move to Saudi Arabia.

With his contract at Old Trafford running until the summer of 2027 and an option to extend it by another 12 months, the Portuguese attacking midfielder decided to continue in the Premier League. He has no intention of leaving Amorim’s team before achieving the goals he set for himself upon joining the Red Devils. He even had a chat with his wife regarding his future at Old Trafford.

“My wife asked me if I’d already achieved everything I wanted here, and the answer was no,” Fernandes confessed.

Fernandes keen on reviving Manchester United

Fernandes wants to take Manchester United back to the top of European football. He wants to win the Premier League or the Champions League before parting ways with the Manchester-based club. He remains an integral part of the club’s plans and is fully committed to their project.

The Portuguese international on his role in the team: “The coach spoke to me and told me he was still counting on me. The club made me feel part of the future plan,”

His decision to turn down a move to the Middle East came at a very difficult time for the Red Devils. They had just finished 15th in the league, their lowest since 1974, and had lost the Europa League final to Tottenham. Despite things not going their way, Fernandes decided to stick around and turned down a multi-million dollar offer.

While speaking about his future at Manchester United, Fernandes said: “I don’t want to talk to anyone until I’ve achieved the goals I’ve set for myself here.”

The Portuguese international doesn’t intend to listen to offers until after the World Cup next summer. His agent is well aware of the player’s stance on his future and won’t engage in talks with any clubs.
