In a major revelation made by journalist Daniele Riolo on RMC Sport and corroborated by Miguel Angel Diaz of COPE, Real Madrid made a huge blunder in diagonising the knee injury of superstar Kylian Mbappe.
The French superstar missed a string of matches in recent weeks due to his knee injury from December resurfacing.
As was already reported, Mbappe was not entirely happy with how the issue was handled by the Real Madrid medical staff and opted to consult doctors in France for a second opinion.
Now, as per the aforementioned reports, instead of examining Mbappe’s left knee, they examined his right, leading to a misdiagnosis of his injury.
Indeed, while the Frenchman had problems in his left knee, Los Blancos’ medical staff tested his right one and gave him the green light to continue playing, which ended up causing complications.

“He received a misdiagnosis in Madrid, he clearly didn’t like it and was even angry,” the journalist explained.
The French specialist Mbappe consulted, Bertrand Sonnery-Cottet, confirmed that “they had done a poor job in Madrid” and proposed a protocol to strengthen the area, which allowed him to recover without surgery.
“What’s being said in ‘authoritative circles’ is that the mistake was absolutely enormous. It’s being said that Real Madrid examined the wrong knee,” he stated.
This is certainly an embarrassing development for Real Madrid, and Mbappe was well within his right to be angry about the situation.
Thankfully for the club, the damage from the situation was not a serious one and Mbappe has been able to recover and return to action, featuring as a substitute in the last two matches against Manchester City and Atletico Madrid before the international break.
