Manchester City have reportedly made their intentions clear in regards to Eintracht Frankfurt striker Omar Marmoush. A new report indicates that the world champions are eager to sign the Egyptian international immediately. So the games begin as City looks to strengthen their squad this month.
Florian Plettenberg has reported via X that Manchester City have now informed Eintracht Frankfurt that they want to sign Omar Marmoush immediately. Furthermore, Plettenberg reports that Eintracht Frankfurt are demanding €80 million to sell their top scorer. It is also included in Plettenberg’s report that City and Marmoush’s agent consider a few of between €50-60 million to be more realistic. Plettenberg adds that no direct negotiations have begun between the two clubs.
It now seems that the game has begun in Manchester City’s attempts to sign Omar Marmoush. The Egyptian international has scored 18 goals and added 12 assists for Eintracht Frankfurt so far this season. Based on that it is clear to see why they’d demand such a sizable transfer fee for Marmoush. He has played a key role in their strong Bundesliga campaign to date and they won’t want to lose such a key player. It will likely take a big offer from Manchester City to sign Marmoush. But they have made their intentions known, and it appears that the cat-and-mouse game of transfer negotiations has begun.
Manchester City will be hoping to tie up a deal for Omar Marmoush relatively quickly. If they can do that, they can move on to other transfer priorities over the January transfer window. But satisfying Eintracht Frankfurt’s demands to sell Omar Marmoush will be no easy task so it will be interesting to see how City’s attempts to sign Marmoush progress over the coming days.
