Osasuna’s long-awaited El Sadar statement over Real Madrid headlined La Liga’s week, Sevilla’s 1-0 at Getafe was joyless, and Girona’s Azzedine Ounahi conjured a pass to remember on Monday.
According to Football Espana, Osasuna had not beaten Madrid in Pamplona for 15 years, and the visitors arrived having won every Liga game in 2026. Under the lights, a bolshy Rojillo crowd set the tempo as academy product Victor Munoz unsettled Dani Carvajal.
Osasuna’s plan was cold and clear, forcing long when Madrid were penned in, then dropping to let Lucas Torro and Jon Moncayola smother Arda Guler and Kylian Mbappe. Aimar Oroz patrolled between full-back and Aurelien Tchouameni, feeding Munoz, Ruben Garcia or Ante Budimir. Alessio Lisci’s switch to 4-2-3-1 underlined a first statement win.
Getafe’s 1-0 loss to Sevilla produced almost nothing. Luis Vazquez’s tame effort in the 21st minute preceded Sevilla’s first attempt in first-half stoppage time, despite Dakonam Djene seeing red on 26 minutes. Even after Matias Almeyda introduced two wingers at the break, Sevilla managed one shot on target from 74% possession.
Quality arrived on 64 minutes, Akor Adams cushioned for Djibril Sow to guide low. Between 81 and 86 minutes Getafe finally stirred, drawing the only real save from Odysseas Vlachodimos, yet breaks fizzled out, one into a throw-in 30 yards from goal. Combined expected goals was 0.6. On Monday, Ounahi split seven Alaves shirts with a divine ball, sending Viktor Tsygankov to round Antonio Sivera.
