Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund have confirmed their starting lineups ahead of tonight’s UEFA Champions League fixture at the Etihad Stadium. Both teams have made impressive starts to their Champions League campaigns. They both sit on seven points, having both won two and drawn one of their opening three matches. Tonight’s match is big for both teams, with a win for either side having the potential to set them up for their final four games of the Champions League league phase.
Manchester City will enter tonight’s match with Mateo Kovacic unavailable due to injury. The Croatian international is set to be sidelined for up to four months with a heel injury. His experience and versatility in midfield will be missed. But City do have a host of midfield options in their squad, so they can cover the loss of Kovacic.
Here are the starting lineups ahead of tonight’s crucial Champions League tie at the Etihad.
Pep Guardiola has made three changes to the starting lineup that beat Bournemouth. In comes John Stones, Tijjani Reijnders and Savinho. Ruben Dias, Bernardo Silva and Rayan Cherki drop to the bench for tonight’s match.
Rodri hasn’t been included in the Manchester City matchday squad for today’s match.
