Chelsea could move for a central defender next summer, but are likely to see how Levi Colwill returns from injury and if a defender leaves according to reports.
The Blues were once again busy in the summer and heavily invested in the squad, as they totally revamped the forward line.
The January window is fast approaching, but Chelsea reportedly aren’t expected to be active, but things can change very quickly in football.
Even though the Blues are expected to be quiet next month, that hasn’t stopped them being linked with players, especially in defence.
Chelsea have been linked with Nottingham Forest’s Murillo, whilst there have also been links with Marc Guehi, although a move for the Crystal Palace is viewed as unlikely.

However, it appears any move for a centre back is unlikely in January, and The Telegraph have reported the Blues could move for one next summer.
The report adds Chelsea are likely to see what Levi Colwill’s form is like once he returns from his ACL injury, and whether a defender leaves before plans are finalised.
The Telegraph add talented youngsters Aaron Anselmino and Mamadou Sarr, who are currently on loan will also be assessed.
Anselmino, who was signed from Boca Juniors, and made his debut at the Club World Cup, is impressing on loan at Borussia Dortmund.
The youngster has earned praise from Niko Kovac, and it’s believed Dortmund would be interested in signing him on a permanent basis.

However, it’s believed the Blues have made their stance clear, with Anselmino not for sale, and if his impressive form for Dortmund continues, it’s hard to imagine him not being part of the first team squad next season.
Chelsea also have Sarr on loan at Strasbourg, and like Anselmino he made his debut at the Club World Cup, and it will be interesting to see what decision the Blues make with him next summer.
