FLW takes a look at the top 10 most valuable players in League One for the 2026/27 campaign
The 2025/26 League One season is officially over, with an enthralling campaign ending with numerous twists and turns, with next year's spectacle set up to be an all-time classic.
Lincoln City, Oxford United, and Bolton Wanderers have been promoted to the Championship, whilst Sheffield Wednesday, Leicester City, and Oxford United have been relegated from the second tier.
Meanwhile, each of Northampton Town, Rotherham United, Port Vale, and Exeter City have all been relegated to League Two, as Bromley, MK Dons, Cambridge United, and Notts County all make the jump to League One from the EFL's basement tier.
There will be numerous interesting match-ups next year, most notably those involving Leicester, who were playing Premier League football as recently as just over 12 months ago, with the club set to undergo mass change following their third relegation in just four years.
With that being said, Football League World has taken a look at the players with the most valuable players in the third tier next season, using data from Transfermarkt to see who has the highest market value in the division, and the results are hardly too surprising.

Transfermarkt value: €3.50 million (£3.02 million)
The first, and certainly not the last Leicester inclusion, towering centre-back Harry Souttar is set to represent Australia at this summer's World Cup.
The Scottish-born Aussie joined the Foxes from Stoke City in January 2023 for an initial £15 million, rising to £20 million if bonuses were met, but his time at the club has been anything but straightforward.
In the three-and-a-half years since arriving at the King Power Stadium, the 27-year-old has managed just 18 appearances for the club, spending time out on loan with Sheffield United and only recently recovered from a long-term ruptured Achilles.
Whether he will be at the club next season remains to be seen, as is the case for almost every other player on this list.

Transfermarkt value: €4 million (£3.45 million)
17-year-old midfielder Louis Page is one of the brightest prospects to have come through the youth system at Leicester in years, though despite this, he was limited to just 500 minutes of league football in the season just gone.
An England youth international Page was awarded the Championship's Apprentice of the Season, and will no doubt go on to have an extremely bright future.
He could be pivotal for the Foxes in League One next season if he decides to stick around and continue his development at his boyhood club.

You're probably noticing a theme here.
With over 100 Premier League appearances to his name for Tottenham Hotspur, Oliver Skipp's career trajectory has been an interesting one.
He was never able to establish himself under various managers in the Spurs first team, and subsequently spent time out on loan with Norwich City in the Championship during the 2020/21 season, before joining Leicester for around £20 million in the summer of 2024.
Since then, the 25-year-old has endured back-to-back relegations with the Foxes, and could well be playing League One football next season despite over a century of top-flight appearances under his belt.

Transfermarkt value: €4 million (£3.45 million)
Hamza Choudhury has been contracted to Leicester his entire career, and has racked up 163 appearances for the Foxes across all competitions since, as well as spending time out on loan with Burton Albion, Watford, and Sheffield United.
A fully-fledged Bangladeshi international, Choudhury has been on a ride with Leicester, winning the FA Cup with the club just five years ago, and seeing the club suffer three relegations in four years, albeit he was out on loan for two of those.
Now, it looks as though the 28-year-old will be playing third-tier football next season with his boyhood club, where he could play a huge role in their upcoming campaign.

Left-back Luke Thomas is a divisive figure among Leicester supporters.
The 24-year-old has managed just shy of 150 appearances for the Foxes across all competitions, including 82 in the Premier League, yet he has never been truly able to nail down a spot in the side.
Leicester fans are torn on Thomas, with some believing he is not good enough to persist, even in League One, whilst others think he can play a starring role.
Having only signed a fresh four-year deal in September 2025, he has another three years remaining on his current deal, and should an acceptable offer not arrive for him, he will almost certainly be Leicester's starting left-back next year.

Transfermarkt value: €5 million (£4.32 million)
Stephy Mavididi lit up the Championship for Leicester during the 2023/24 campaign under Enzo Maresca following his €7.5 million (£6.4 million) from French side Montpellier, with 12 goals and six assists in 46 league games that year.
The Englishman has lost his footing ever since, however, with just seven goals and three assists in 72 league appearances during his stay in the Premier League and recent season in the Championship.
His lack of output has ultimately cost Leicester, with his market value plummeting since his drop off, and where his future lies remains to be seen.

Transfermarkt value: €9 million (£7.77 million)
Danish left-back Victor Kristiansen joined Leicester from FC Copenhagen in January 2023 for around £17 million, and suffered relegation from the Premier League in his first six months at the club.
He'd spend the following season out on loan in Italy with Bologna, and would make 30 Premier League appearances for the Foxes in the 2024/25 season as they were relegated again.
He'd make it three relegations in four seasons for the club, but made just five appearances in the second tier, doing little to help their survival efforts, and he isn't expected to stick around in the third tier.

Italian defender Caleb Okoli joined Leicester from Atalanta in the summer of 2024 upon their return to the top flight for around €15 million (£12.6 million), but played in just half the available games, competing for minutes alongside Conor Coady, Jannik Vestergaard, and Wout Faes.
The 24-year-old featured more regularly in the season just gone, especially after Faes' departure to Monaco in January, but couldn't do enough to prevent the Foxes from slipping into the third tier.
Whether he sticks around at the King Power next year is up in the air, though, under contract until 2029, he is one of the more saleable assets in Leicester's ranks.

Still only 16, it feels as though Jeremy Monga has already been around for years.
The young winger is one of the brightest talents, not just at Leicester, but in the entire world, having made his Premier League debut at just 15 years and 271 days old, behind only Ethan Nwaneri and then more recently, Max Dowman.
Despite this, Monga struggled to feature in the Championship this season, managing just 921 league minutes as the Foxes were relegated.
The likes of Arsenal, Manchester City, and Manchester United have been sniffing around the teenager in hopes of making a move, as Leicester brace themselves for a bidding war for their young star this summer.

Transfermarkt value: €20 million (£17.27 million)
The final Leicester player, completing the full list of Foxes players, Ghanaian international Abdul Fatawu is jetting off to the World Cup this summer, and looks to have a strong competition to put himself in the shop window.
One of the only players to come away with any credit from the season just gone, Fatawu scored nine and assisted eight in 44 Championship appearances, but was unable to keep the club afloat.
He has persistently been linked with moves away, as Leicester look to make a profit on the £14 million
