Chelsea have set their sights on Nottingham Forest star Murillo as they look for a new centre back according to former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown.
The Blues lost Levi Colwill to an ACL injury before the start of the season, and despite public pleas from Enzo Maresca for a new centre back his wish wasn’t granted.
Chelsea have struggled defensively at the start of the season, making a number of bad individual errors, and conceding some really poor goals.
Maresca has had to deal with somewhat of an injury crisis at centre back, with Trevoh Chalobah, Tosin Adarabioyo and Wesley Fofana all missing the win against Liverpool.
Benoit Badiashile and Josh Acheampong started the game, but both went off injured, and the Blues finished with a partnership of Jorell Hato and Reece James.
Chelsea will have Chalobah, Tosin and Fofana back after the international break, and Maresca will need to decide on his preferred partnership.

Whether the Blues look to sign a new centre back in January is unclear, but Brown has claimed they’ve set their sights on Murillo.
“Chelsea need a centre-back, they’re not good enough at the back to challenge for the title,” he told Football Insider.
“They are aware of that and it’s something they’re going to look at in January, because they’ve suffered a lot of injuries already this season.
“Murillo of course will be on their radar, he has been for a while because he’s been fantastic for Nottingham Forest, and they’re not the only club looking at him.
“If it’s a deal they think can be done, then it wouldn’t surprise me to see them make a move, because I’m told he’s definitely somebody they’re looking at.”
Chelsea have been previously linked with Murillo, with Forest at the time wanting £70m for the Brazilian, but he’s subsequently signed a new contract with the club.

The 23-year-old has made five appearances in all competitions so far this season, but Forest are struggling down in 17th in the league.
Murillo is likely to be the next big name to leave the City Ground, but a deal in January is set to be very pricey and difficult to do.
