Thiago Almada on Flamengo list, but midfielder intent on Europe after 2025/26 at Atlético de Madrid | OneFootball

According to Coluna Do Fla, Flamengo are monitoring the market for reinforcements and Thiago Almada is on their radar. The Argentine had a rotational 2025/26 at Atlético de Madrid and remains under contract until 2030.

Almada made 44 appearances for the Spanish side, starting 22. He registered four goals and four assists, numbers that have stirred interest among several clubs.

After a stint at Botafogo in 2025, he is focused on cementing his career in Europe. That stance has created significant obstacles for Flamengo in any attempt to advance talks.

Flamengo face competition from River Plate, who have also shown interest. Almada has taken the same position with them, indicating he does not plan to return to South America now as he prioritises Europe.

With a move for Almada cooling, Flamengo are concentrating on other needs. The football department have two priorities this window, a centre-forward to act as back-up to Pedro and a midfielder capable of replacing Arrascaeta.

Left-back is not viewed as an immediate priority. Even so, the club continue to track options and would not rule out a proposal if a favourable opportunity arises.
