Thiago Mendes is a doubt for Vasco’s Carioca semi-final first leg against Fluminense after feeling knee pain in training this week at CT Moacyr Barbosa, according to Globo.com.

Medical tests ruled out a serious injury. The medical department will monitor his condition over the coming days.

Mendes left the training ground with protective support on the affected area.

After a period of adaptation, he has become a key part of Fernando Diniz’s midfield. He showed significant physical improvement and established himself as a regular starter late in last season’s Brasileiro.

The first leg is on Sunday at Nilton Santos at 18:00. The return is on one March at Maracanã, also at 18:00.
