Juventus coach Thiago Motta revealed the Bianconeri’s line-up for tomorrow’s game against Genoa during a pre-match press conference, saying that Danilo, Jonas Jakob Rouhi, and Nicolò Fagioli would start.

Juventus boss Thiago Motta revealed the Old Lady’s starting XI one day before their Serie A match against Genoa at Marassi. The former midfielder said that “for once,” he could reveal the entire Juventus line-up one day in advance.

“Mattia [Perin], Jonas [Rouhi], Gleison [Bremer], Pierre [Kalulu], Danilo, captain, Fagio [Fagioli], Wes [McKennie], Koop [Koopmeiners], Kenan [Yildiz], Dusan [Vlahovic] and Nico Gonzalez. This is the starting XI for tomorrow,” he said at a press conference on Friday.

Motta unexpectedly revealed the starting Juventus formation while replying to the final question of the press conference.

He had previously spoken about the Bianconeri’s XI.

“It’s easier this week because I trust what I see in training,” he said.

“We’ve had a full week of training, and I’ve seen good things on the pitch. It all starts from there, from what I see on the pitch. Tomorrow, I will start the best XI I see.”

Motta’s announcement also means that ex-Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz will start on the bench again. The Brazilian was one of Juventus’ most expensive signings last summer but has only started once in six competitive games, and tomorrow will make no exception.

“He must continue what he’s doing. This was an excellent work week,” Motta said before announcing the full Juventus XI.

“As always, I can’t start everyone. Those playing in that position are also doing really well.”

Juventus have collected nine points in the opening five Serie A matches. They haven’t yet conceded this season, but they’ve only scored six goals, drawing the last three games 0-0.
