Thiago Pitarch and family visited Benfica before choosing Real Madrid

Benfica came close to signing Thiago Pitarch from Leganés in 2023, before the 18-year-old chose Real Madrid.

The pursuit advanced to the point that Pitarch and his family visited the Estádio da Luz facilities.

Real Madrid’s subsequent intervention altered the course of talks, and once they moved decisively, the player’s desire to represent the club proved decisive.

This season Pitarch, valued at 20 million euros, has made 27 appearances for Madrid, including eight for the first team, across 431 minutes. He is yet to score or assist, and he made his Real Madrid debut at the Estádio da Luz.
