Thiago Silva crowned his 1000th appearance with progress to the Europa League quarter-finals as Porto beat Stuttgart 2-0 in the round of 16 second leg.
According to O Jogo, Porto highlighted the achievement on Friday on social media. President André Villas-Boas presented Silva with gifts bearing the number 1000.

The Brazilian centre-back was named in the starting XI for the landmark match.
A European champion with Chelsea at the Dragão, he has been heavily decorated during spells with Milan, PSG and Chelsea.
The result keeps Porto with a European trophy in sight.
