From derby victories to a back-heel masterpiece, this week in Lazio history recalls standout wins and salutes Fulvio Bernardini.

On 17 January 1999, Lazio won 3-1 at Parma with Salas, Mancini and Vieri on the scoresheet, Mancini adding a fantastic acrobatic back-heel. On 17 January 1954, a Bredesen brace sealed a 3-0 victory over Sampdoria.

Match in focus, 15 January 1989, Lazio 1-0 Roma. After 25 minutes, Antonio Acerbis found Sosa down the left. His medium-height cross eluded the Roma defence and Paolo Di Canio drove low into the right-hand corner past Franco Tancredi.

Fulvio Bernardini, born in Rome on 28 December 1905, began as a Lazio goalkeeper, debuting on 19 October 1919 against Audace and officially on 23 November 1919 versus Pro-Roma. He became captain and, as a forward, scored 24 in 1922-23 as Lazio reached the Scudetto final, finishing with 73 goals in 110 games. He retired in 1945 and died in Rome on 13 January 1984, aged 79.
