Three Juventus players earned individual praise after Tuesday night’s encouraging 1-1 draw away against Lille in the Champions League, including goalscorer Dusan Vlahovic, who netted his 50th Bianconeri goal from the penalty spot.
Despite coming away with just a point, Juventus earned largely positive reviews for their display against Lille. Pundits were particularly pleased by the team’s positive response to falling behind, and their application of pressure in the second half and the final whistle.
Vlahovic was given largely positive ratings after the full-time whistle. He was calm and composed from the penalty spot, and also had a very decent goalbound first-time effort denied by a world class Lucas Chevalier save after half an hour.
Francisco Conceicao, who won the penalty for Vlahovic, has also been particularly encouraging since his return to injury.
There were some suggestions that he went down rather softly for the spot-kick; He looked like he knew what he was trying to achieve at least, but, the Portugal international was involved in practically all of his side’s attacking moves when Juventus were on top in the second half.
Assisting Conceicao on the right flank was versatile defender Andrea Cambiaso, who has arguably been one of Juventus and Italy’s most consistent performers in 2024-25.
His runs forward and interchanges with Conceicao gave Lille plenty of problems to deal with on the right flank, and eventually led to the move that earned the Juventus penalty.
