Tiago Gouveia set for Atlas move, Sunday flight booked | OneFootball

Tiago Gouveia will fly to Mexico on Sunday to complete a move to Atlas, and will not play for Benfica again.

According to Glorioso 1904, the winger is heading to Guadalajara to formalise the transfer, a deal briefly paused after Jaden Umeh sustained a serious injury.

With the switch close to completion, he will miss the second leg of the Europa League second qualifying round against St. Gallen.

His final outing for Benfica came in Switzerland, where he came on after the break against St. Gallen and added speed and threat despite a 2-1 defeat.

That display did not alter a plan set for days. With limited prospects of a prominent role at the Luz in 2026/27 under Marco Silva, the 25-year-old now starts a new chapter in Mexican football.
