Now without a club, Tite has said he was left upset by the way his Flamengo sacking was handled.

"I was very upset because I could not say goodbye to the staff or have that human relationship with the players. I went to say goodbye a year and a half later, when we faced each other. I was asked not to go. So it is a lack of human respect. At an extraordinary club, of extraordinary greatness," he told GE.

He arrived in October 2023 to replace Jorge Sampaoli, his first job after leaving the Brazil national team. He oversaw 68 matches, winning 41, and lifted the Carioca title.

After a run of poor results, including Libertadores elimination to Peñarol of Uruguay, the board ended his tenure. Filipe Luís, then the under-20 coach, was chosen to lead the senior side.
