MIAMI – The 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup continues with Deportivo Toluca FC hosting LA Galaxy in the First Leg of their Quarterfinals series on Wednesday at Estadio Nemesio Díez in Toluca, Mexico.

Toluca arrives at the Quarterfinals for a ninth time, having advanced in five of its previous appearances. The reigning Liga MX champion continues its journey after beginning the campaign as one of the pre-seeded clubs that entered the competition directly in the Round of 16, successfully advancing past the stage with a 6-3 aggregate over San Diego FC.

The two-time Champions Cup winners initially fell 3-2 on the road in the First Leg, before securing a comeback in the Second Leg with a convincing 4-nil win at home featuring a brace from Jesús Angulo, as well as goals from Paulinho and Jesús Gallardo.

In this First Leg encounter against the Galaxy, the Diablos Rojos will look to record back-to-back wins over U.S. opponents for the first time since 2008.

LA Galaxy enters the Quarterfinals for its 10th appearance in the stage, having advanced three times in the past. The California side reached the Quarterfinals by knocking out Concacaf Caribbean Cup winners Mount Pleasant FA, 6-nil win on aggregate.

Gabriel Pec was in stellar form against Mount Pleasant, bagging a hat-trick in the First Leg and a brace in the Second Leg. João Klauss scored the team’s other goal in the Round of 16 series.

The Galaxy won its last away game in the Concacaf Champions Cup, 3-nil against Mt. Pleasant. A victory at Toluca would mark its first consecutive away win in the competition, and its first win on Mexican soil, since 2008.
