Daniel Farke has been praised by former colleague Tony Pulis for steering Leeds United to Premier League safety. Pulis has managed over 1,000 matches, 323 of them in the Premier League.

Per yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Pulis said: “Daniel Farke has done a smashing job at every club he’s been at, and I’ve been lucky enough to manage against him and he’s a nice man as well.”

It was far from guaranteed he would see out 2025/26 after six defeats in seven left Leeds looking doomed. A season-defining half-time tweak at Manchester City shifted the trajectory and preceded a run of only five defeats in 25 league matches.

Leeds then finished 14th on 47 points, securing safety with three matches to spare. An eight-match unbeaten run carried them over the line, before a final-day defeat at West Ham ended an unbeaten sequence stretching back to early March.

There was early scrutiny given his previous Premier League struggles with Norwich City, yet he is now widely expected to guide Leeds into a fourth season. Farke will almost certainly mark three years at Elland Road early next month, a rarity lately, with Marcelo Bielsa, Simon Grayson and David O’Leary the last to reach that point.

Pulis said there was talk of sacking even 10 games in, but results improved after Farke moved to three at the back, and he believes the manager merits great credit.
