MIAMI – The 2026 Concacaf U-17 Qualifiers delivered big moments throughout the tournament as eight teams secured their sports in the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2026.
Here are some of the standout moments from this year’s Qualifiers.
Costa Rica makes history
Los Ticos reached 216 total goals, becoming the highest-scoring Central American nation in the history of U-17 Qualifiers. They now rank third overall, behind only Mexico and the United States.
Mexico reaches 100
El Tricolor became just the second national team to reach 100 matches played in the history of U-17 Qualifiers, highlighting their long-term dominance and consistency in the competition.
Cuba breaks 35-year drought
Cuba secured a historic return to the FIFA Men’s U-17 World Cup, with their first qualification since 1991.
Jakupovic’s scoring surge
United States striker Malik Jakupovic finished the tournament with eight goals, recording the second-highest single-edition total ever by a U.S. player in the U-17 Qualifiers.
Jamaica sets a new record
With 18 goals in the Qualifiers, Jamaica now hold the distinction of the most goals scored by a Caribbean national team in a single edition of the tournament.
