Barcelona have already taken one step toward the semi-final round of the Copa del Rey thanks to a first-half hat trick from Spanish forward Ferran Torres.

On a night when Hansi Flick's men look to reach the last four of the competition, it was the former Valencia academy graduate who set Blaugrana away with another goal-blitz underway.

It was less than two weeks ago when Barça smashed Los Ches by a 7-1 scoreline in their La Liga matchup, which saw Torres once again put himself among the goalscoring action.

This time, Torres busted his way into the penalty area before a one-time deft touch slotted past Valencia keeper Stole Dimitrievski, raising his goal tally on the season to four, only to double their lead and complete his brace on the night with a good finish on the volley in the 17th minute. Fermín López would make it 3-0 six minutes later.

But despite previous loyalties, Torres would complete his hat-trick with an accurate finish from just outside the area to put the result out of sight.

With that, the Spanish international now has 10 goals from his last nine starts for the club, and it may be that Barça already have the successor to Robert Lewandowski in their midst.
