Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa have been charged with misconduct by the Football Association (FA) following their FA Cup brawl last weekend.
The two Premier League clubs are accused of failing to ensure their players behaved appropriately after the match. Both clubs have until Friday to respond.
Tottenham crashed out of the FA Cup after losing Saturday’s home clash with Villa.
Emi Buendia and Morgan Rogers scored to put the visitors in control at half-time. Wilson Odobert pulled one back, but held on to seal a 2-1 victory.
A melee ensued on the pitch at full time after midfielder Joao Palhinha confronted Ollie Watkins for celebrating in front of Villa’s travelling supporters.
That sparked an angry reaction from Rogers and Lemar Bogarde, and more players became involved in confrontations at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The FA has previously imposed significant fines for player misconduct.
Arsenal and Manchester City were fined £65,000 and £75,000, respectively, for failing to control their players in a match in February 2023.
