Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Fenerbahce star N’Golo Kante, according to journalist Talha Arslan.

Spurs have been bolstering their engine room in the summer transfer window and are now reportedly eyeing the 35-year-old.

Tottenham have signed Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes this summer, but they need further reinforcements.

Spurs captain Cristian Romero could exit the club, leaving a leadership vacuum. Midfielder Lucas Bergvall also reportedly wants to leave.

Kante would be a sensational addition. Despite being in the twilight of his career, he is still an outstanding ball-winner.

He also brings winning experience, having clinched two Premier League titles, the FA Cup, the Champions League and the 2018 World Cup.

Despite his quiet nature, he reportedly brings an unwavering winning mentality to the dressing room, and he is a ball of positivity ahead of games.

Spurs would value his leadership qualities as they look to bounce back from two tumultuous Premier League campaigns in which they finished dangerously close to the relegation zone.

Tottenham do not have a proper ball-winner in the middle of the park, and Kante could do a decent job. England manager Thomas Tuchel believes he is ‘unique and a joy to watch‘.

However, while Kante’s pedigree is beyond question, it is difficult to see Tottenham making a serious move for him.

Spurs have already invested in younger midfield options this summer. If another midfielder arrives before the transfer window closes, it is far more likely to be someone who can become a long-term fixture.
