Maghnes Akliouche stood out as one of the most in-demand players during this past summer’s transfer window, but no deal ultimately materialized. The French midfielder drew attention from both PSG and Manchester City after a standout 2024-25 season with AS Monaco.
Back in May, 90min France reported that both clubs had ramped up their interest, with Monaco reportedly placing a €70 million valuation on Akliouche. Pep Guardiola admires the young player’s left-footed creativity and versatility, seeing him as a potential long-term replacement for Bernardo Silva.
The Independent previously reported that Tottenham view Akliouche as a more affordable alternative to Savinho. Meanwhile, Manchester City reportedly set a £70 million price tag, while Monaco value him closer to £47.5 million.
Already one of Ligue 1’s brightest young talents, Akliouche stayed at Monaco after the summer window closed, but a transfer could still be in the cards in the future.

Despite the summer links to PSG, one report sees the French giants losing interest in the young Monaco standout. As a result, this news bodes well for clubs like Tottenham if they want to revisit in 2026.
According to PSG Inside Actu, it is now quite unlikely that the European champions will move for Akliouche. “The Akliouche trail is fading! PSG doubts his real added value,” they wrote on X, claiming that Luis Enrique and Luis Campos have expressed serious doubts in recent months about the Monaco player’s level.
In that position, Rodrigo Mora “still has value,” while two other major European talents are being closely monitored: Carlos Alvarez of Levante and Arsen Zakharyan of Real Sociedad.
“Paris wants a profile that is promising over the long term,” PSG Inside Actu added. Now it remains to be seen which young attacking player will have the favor of the capital club during the upcoming transfer windows.
It is becoming increasingly unlikely that it will be Akliouche, who has lost standing in the eyes of Luis Enrique and Luis Campos over the past few weeks. The Monaco player had the ideal profile to fit at PSG, with the profile of a young French talent with high potential and the versatility to impress Luis Enrique.
Yet the inconsistency of the Monaco attacking midfielder has raised doubts in Paris to the point that the club has, for now, closed this chapter.
