Tottenham survived a relentless AS Monaco onslaught to claim a hard-fought 0-0 draw in the Champions League, thanks largely to a man-of-the-match display from goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.
Despite dominating possession and creating numerous chances, Monaco were repeatedly denied, leaving Sébastien Pocognoli’s side frustrated once again.
The hosts began brightly, pressing high and testing Spurs early. Folarin Balogun forced Vicario into an early save.
Monaco’s best opportunities came via slick link-up play, with Balogun and Maghnes Akliouche repeatedly carving space, only for Vicario to produce a series of fine saves, including a stunning stop to deny Jordan Teze from point-blank range late in the second half.
Tottenham struggled to get a foothold in the game, their attacks largely limited to half-chances. Micky van de Ven headed just over before half-time, while Lucas Bergvall and Richarlison offered little in a subdued display.
Even substitute Takumi Minamino was unable to convert three clear chances, leaving Spurs reliant on Vicario’s heroics.
In the end, it was a night of frustration for the Monégasques and a remarkable performance from Vicario, whose reflexes and composure earned Spurs a valuable point in a tightly contested fixture.
