In a recent report, Bola na Rede claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are eager to land Benfica winger Andreas Schjelderup this summer. It has been mentioned that Spurs are willing to pay around €55m to bring the Norwegian talent to North London this off-season.

Schjelderup’s Impressive Form In Portuguese Football

Schjelderup enjoyed a decent campaign at the Portuguese club as he put in a series of impressive performances on the left side of their attack. The Norwegian wide player banged in ten goals and grabbed seven assists in 43 matches for Benfica last season on all fronts.

The 22-year-old is currently among the best young wingers in Liga Portugal. Hence, it is no wonder that Spurs are showing interest in signing him in this transfer window.

His current contract at Benfica will run out in the summer of 2028, which could make it tough for Tottenham to land him on a cut-price deal this off-season.

Should Tottenham Hotspur Boss Roberto De Zerbi Get Schjelderup On Board?

Schjelderup is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few driving runs with it out in the wide areas. He has the vision to create a few inviting chances for his teammates to find the back of the net.

The Norwegian sensation can even shoot the ball with power from long range. Schjelderup has proven himself to be a consistent performer in Liga Portugal. However, it remains to be seen whether he can maintain his good form in the Premier League if Spurs manage to get a deal done for him this off-season.

We can expect Schjelderup to bring more firepower to Tottenham boss Roberto De Zerbi’s frontline. He is good enough to challenge for a regular first-team spot at the North London club in the coming seasons.
