In a recent report, Calciomercato stated that Tottenham Hotspur are facing stiff competition for Bayern Munich ace Leon Goretzka. It has been mentioned that Spurs would have to rival Juventus, Napoli and Atletico Madrid in the race to land the German talent this summer.
Goretzka is having a decent campaign at the Munich club as he has produced a run of impressive displays for them at the centre of the park. The 31-year-old has found the back of the net on three occasions and picked up four assists in 42 matches for Bayern Munich this season across multiple competitions.
The German talent is currently among the most experienced midfielders in the Bundesliga. Thus, Spurs would do well to lure him to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this off-season.
His current contract at the Allianz Arena will run out at the end of this campaign, which could open the door for Tottenham to sign him on a free transfer later this year.

Goretzka is a good tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to earn the ball back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when needed and is a good passer as well.
The German talent can shoot the ball with power from long range and has got the vision to engineer some inviting chances for his teammates in the final third. Goretzka is full of energy and running at the centre of the park. However, there are some question marks over whether he can settle into life in the Premier League if Spurs manage to snap him up later this summer.
Goretzka will add more quality and depth to Tottenham boss Robert De Zerbi’s midfield department. He has what it takes to fight for a regular first-team spot at the North London club in the coming years. Hence, the German would be well-worth the fight for Tottenham this summer.
At 31, Goretzka has still got a few good years left in him to play at a high level. Therefore, Spurs should focus on trying everything they can to lure him to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at the end of this campaign.
