Tottenham Hotspur face Brighton in the Premier League with confidence high after a positive start to the season. Thomas Frank has already made his mark since arriving in north London and today’s clash offers another opportunity to underline Spurs’ growing momentum under his stewardship.
There is little doubt Frank will be weighing his options carefully. With a midweek Carabao Cup fixture against Doncaster looming, rotation is inevitable, but not wholesale. Tottenham are expected to remain close to full strength against Brighton as they look to extend their promising run.
Midfield may be the area that sees adjustment. Joao Palhinha began on the bench against Villarreal but impressed significantly when introduced, adding resilience and control in the closing stages. His performance has given Frank a clear reason to bring him back into the starting eleven.

Xavi Simons has been deployed wide on the left in his early appearances for Tottenham, something Frank explained as a deliberate choice to maintain midfield stability. “It is about keeping the team’s balance through the middle,” he noted earlier in the week. That philosophy appears to be working, so Simons could continue out wide.
Meanwhile, Lucas Bergvall and Pape Matar Sarr remain pivotal. Both are in excellent form, combining energy with defensive reliability. Their partnership has quickly become essential, allowing Spurs to transition smoothly from defence to attack. Frank values consistency in this department and may be reluctant to disrupt it.
There is intrigue at full-back. Djed Spence has started every match this season but his display against Villarreal left room for improvement. Destiny Udogie has been pushing hard in training and is now in contention to claim his first start of the campaign. That battle could be one of the most significant selection calls Frank makes today.
Tottenham are tipped to line up in a 4-2-3-1 formation with Guglielmo Vicario in goal. Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie are expected to flank Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven in defence. Palhinha should partner Sarr at the base of midfield, providing both stability and bite.
Further forward, Mohammed Kudus, Bergvall and Simons are likely to support Richarlison in attack. This blend of youth, creativity and physicality has given Spurs a sharper edge under Frank and Brighton will be fully aware of the threat.
Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Vicario, Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie, Palhinha, Sarr, Kudus, Bergvall, Simons, Richarlison.
Injured: Takai, Dragusin, Bissouma, Maddison, Kulusevski, Solanke.
Tottenham Hotspur will know Brighton are rarely easy opponents, but with Frank shaping his side with tactical clarity, Spurs are building confidence and cohesion. Supporters at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will expect another strong performance.
