Tottenham Hotspur

Thomas Frank takes charge of his first competitive match as Tottenham manager following his appointment as Ange Postecoglou’s successor. Yves Bissouma has been excluded from the squad with Frank punishing the Mali midfielder for repeated lateness.

Dominic Solanke is available for selection in a welcomes boost after recovering from an ankle injury that limited him to just one pre-season appearance against Reading in July.

Key absentees include James Maddison (ACL injury) and Dejan Kulusevski (knee injury), with the former undergoing successful surgery. Radu Drăgușin remains sidelined with an ACL injury and won’t return until mid-October.

New signings Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United and João Palhinha on loan from Bayern Munich have both been integrated into Frank’s plans.

Paris Saint-Germain

Luis Enrique will be without Gianluigi Donnarumma, who has been excluded from the squad ahead of his expected exit. Donnarumma released a statement on Tuesday confirming his imminent departure. His expected sale comes after a failure to agree a new contract with PSG having signed from Lille for £34.4m (€40m) as a replacement.

João Neves is suspended after receiving a red card for violent conduct in the FIFA Club World Cup final defeat to Chelsea. Senny Mayulu is receiving treatment for a knock to his right thigh and remains unavailable.

The French champions have had limited pre-season preparation due to their Club World Cup involvement. However, they retain their core group, including Ousmane Dembélé, who was named Champions League Player of the Season, and Désiré Doué, who claimed the Young Player of the Season honour.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Achraf Hakimi provide an attacking threat, whilst Marquinhos captains the side from central defence alongside Willian Pacho.
