Tottenham have been dealt a series of first-team injuries in the early stages of this season, with some new signings among the wounded.

Thomas Frank is without his two first-choice strikers, Dominic Solanke and Randal Kolo Muani, and also has a variety of midfielders and defenders sidelined.

He may soon have some returnees incoming, though, as the likes of Dejan Kulusevski and Radu Dragusin could soon be back in first-team training in a much-needed boost.

Here’s all you need to know about Tottenham’s injury situation...

Randal Kolo Muani

Randal Kolo Muani’s stuttering start to life in Tottenham continued this week. As he was thought to be nearing a return, Frank revealed he had suffered a new setback.

Speaking on Kolo Muani and Ben Davies, Frank said: "Minor injuries both of them. It's just too short a turnaround unfortunately."

He has only made one appearance for the club since joining on loan from Paris Saint-Germain, playing 13 minutes off the bench against Villarreal in the Champions League.

Potential return date: October 4 vs Leeds United (A)

Dominic Solanke

Dominic Solanke’s season was derailed in pre-season when he picked up an ankle injury facing Reading.

The same injury has niggled him since, limiting him to just two appearances in the League so far this season.

Frank said last week that his issue was “an ankle injury that's just been a little bit tricky. Nothing big. We are relatively positive that it will be relatively quick.”

He was not in the squad to face Wolves on Saturday, but has returned to training on grass.

Spurs will hope a restful international break can leave him fit and firing when the Premier League returns in October.

Potential return date: October 19 vs Aston Villa (H)

Ben Davies

Ben Davies is yet to appear for Tottenham this season, but has completed 90 minutes twice for Wales.

His wait to play in Spurs colours will persist, though, after he picked up a knee injury.

Frank said of Davies and Kolo Muani: "Minor injuries both of them. It's just too short a turnaround unfortunately."

He had previously described the injury as “not anything serious,” and will hope to welcome the Welshman back soon.

Potential return date: October 4 vs Leeds United (A)

Yves Bissouma

Yves Bissouma seems to have fallen into the dangerous territory of being both unfit and out of favour.

His appearances in pre-season were limited, and he was later dropped for the Super Cup for disciplinary reasons.

The door has been opened for him to come back into the squad, and he has recently returned to training on grass, but is not yet in full team sessions.

Potential return date: October

Dejan Kulusevski

Dejan Kulusevski remains out with the same knee injury which cut his 2024-25 campaign short.

Speaking recently, Frank said he hoped the Swede’s return would come soon.

“Of course Kulusevski is a top player, I always liked him when I saw him from afar,” Frank said.

“He is a key player for us, a key player for me. Instead of putting an exact month, I just want him back as soon as possible. The medical guys and Kulusevski are working very hard on that. It’s not tomorrow but hopefully not too far away.”

He confirmed the player is set to return before the end of the year.

Potential return date: Late 2025

Radu Dragusin

Radu Dragusin seems to be progressing towards a return after tearing his ACL in February.

He joined training during the September international break.

Frank cooled expectations that he was nearing a return earlier this month, though, saying: “When you've been out of football for nine months, you know, it's not enough to have a six-week pre-season. You need to take a little bit more time, but it's positive and some surprise and come back quicker, of course."

Potential return date: Late 2025

Kota Takai

Summer signing Kota Takai is yet to appear for Spurs after picking up a plantar fascia issue.

The Japanese centre-back missed all of pre-season and the early days of the Premier Season.

Speaking in mid-September, though, Frank said Takai was “very close” to returning to full team training.

Potential return date: October

James Maddison

James Maddison is likely facing the longest spell on the sidelines of any current Spurs absentee.

Shortly after returning from a separate injury, he ruptured his ACL in a pre-season friendly against Newcastle.

He has since undergone surgery and is expected to miss most of the season.
