Tottenham Hotspur are set to sign Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi on a four-year deal, with the 29-year-old expected to move to north London this summer.
The Athletic reported in April that Roberto De Zerbi’s side were leading contenders, conditional on survival, and had entered advanced talks with the Argentinian.
Spurs stayed up on the final day, beating Everton 1-0 to finish two points clear of West Ham United in 18th.
Senesi is out of contract this summer and played in all but one of Bournemouth’s league matches as Andoni Iraola’s team qualified for Europa League for the first time.
He joined in 2022 and has made 128 appearances across four seasons, with six goals and 10 assists. Internationally, he featured in two Argentina friendlies in 2025-26 and missed the final World Cup squad named on Thursday.
Tottenham are also in pole position to sign Andy Robertson when the left-back’s Liverpool contract expires this summer, a move likewise aided by their Premier League survival.
Senesi will provide a left-sided centre-back alternative to Micky van de Ven, prized for line-breaking passes that give De Zerbi a different option to Van de Ven’s surging runs.
His arrival would take Spurs to five senior centre-backs in a season without Europe, raising the prospect of a departure, for example captain Cristian Romero, who has publicly criticised senior figures in 2026.
