Igor Tudor in big decision over Spurs system for north London derby
Tottenham are set to be boosted by the fitness of Dominic Solanke against Arsenal, as Igor Tudor begins his Spurs tenure with the north London derby.
Solanke has been unwell this week but Tudor said on Friday that Spurs expect the striker to be fit.
Tudor has favoured a 3-4-2-1 formation throughout his managerial career but the Spurs squad is decimated by injuries and it remains to be seen what system he will use.
Cristian Romero is suspended and Kevin Danso is remains injured so Joao Palhinha will have play in defence if Tudor wants to play three at the back.
Pedro Porro is still injured, so Djed Spence is likely to play on the left and Archie Gray on the right.
Yves Bissouma could partner Pape Matar Sarr in midfield, with Conor Gallagher used as one of two No10s and trusted to press high.
Richarlison is not yet ready to return.
Porro and Richarlison have both been nursing hamstring injuries, with Porro missing the last four games in all competitions and Richarlison missing the last seven games.
Spurs are without as many as 12 senior first-team players through injury and suspension.
Wilson Odobert became the latest victim of Spurs’ injury crisis after he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury during last week’s 2-1 defeat to Newcastle.
Romero serves the second of his four-game suspension following his red card at Manchester United.
Tottenham predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Vicario; Palhinha, Dragusin, Van de Ven; Gray, Bissouma, Sarr, Spence; Gallagher, Simons; Solanke
Injured: Odobert, Maddison, Kulusevski, Kudus, Bentancur, Davies, Bergvall, Romero, Udogie, Richarlison, Porro
Doubt: Solanke
Date and time: 4:30pm GMT on Sunday, February 22, 2026
