Clubs target big deals with summer window open again

Big summer ahead: Marc Guehi, Warren Zaire-Emery and Murillo could all be on the move this summer

Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool are among the clubs making big moves in the transfer market. The summer window is open again and Arsenal continue their pursuit of a top-level striker with talks ongoing over Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres. The Gunners have been linked with Rodrygo and are now said to be targeting shock moves for Paris Saint-Germain star Warren Zaire-Emery and Leicester midfielder Bilal El Khannouss.

Chelsea are in talks over Jamie Gittens, Joao Pedro, Mohammed Kudus and Malick Fofana as they weigh up whether to go back in for Mike Maignan. The Blues also have interest in Ousmane Diomande and Murillo as they bid to boost their defence.

Liverpool are set to finally announce Florian Wirtz, have booked a medical for Milos Kerkez and are now plotting a move for Marc Guehi. Manchester United are still pushing to sign Bryan Mbeumo and also have interest in Ekitike and Victor Osimhen. Tottenham are targeting Eberechi Eze and Alejandro Garnacho. Arsenal striker search hits the rocks

Arsenal’s search for a new striker has “hits the rocks”, according to a fresh report that says the Gunners are growing frustrated with Benjamin Sesko over his wage demands.

New Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta has been in talks over Sesko and Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres.

It seemed Sesko had emerged as the top target but the Sun report his camp are “looking for a contract much higher than Arsenal plan to pay” and “that may force a change of direction”.

Sesko has an asking price of around £70m.

Williams wants to join Barcelona

Barcelona director Deco has confirmed Nico Williams wants to join to the Catalan giants.

Williams has been a long-term target for Arsenal but it has become clear in recent weeks that the Spain star is unlikely to move to Emirates Stadium.

“Yes, Nico Williams wants to come,” said Deco. “And we will try!

“Nico, same as other players, is showing a strong desire to come… and if the right conditions are met in his case, we’ll definitely try to complete the deal.”

'Exploratory talks' over Chelsea striker

Nicolas Jackson’s Chelsea future continues to be the subject of speculation following his latest misdemeanour.

Jackson was sent off in Friday’s Club World Cup defeat to Flamengo and Chelsea are interested in signing another new striker following the £30million arrival of Liam Delap.

Now Juventus and Napoli are said to have held “exploratory talks” over the signing of Jackson, according to Gianluca di Marzio.

But the report says Chelsea are “unlikely to sell” Jackson.

Guardiola wants to cut Man City squad

Pep Guardiola has said Manchester City will actively trim down their squad before the start of the new season.

Ilkay Gundogan is being linked with Galatasaray, while Jack Grealish, Kalvin Phillips and Kyle Walker are not in the City squad at the Club World Cup and could leave.

Guardiola said: “We have - right now - a long squad, too many players, so we cannot go with 26, 27 players this season because there would be more without playing, and step by step maybe a few players are going to more.”

On Gundogan’s future, Guardiola said: “No news, good news. I don't know anything, I didn't speak with him, and if he will not be part he would not be here.”

Spurs join race for Garnacho

Tottenham have entered the race to sign Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United.

Garnacho looks set to leave Old Trafford this summer and fresh reports claim Spurs are interested in the 20-year-old amid doubts over the future of captain Heung-min Son.

United are said to want around £50m for Garnacho, who has also been linked with Chelsea and Napoli.

Garnacho is free to move after falling out with Ruben Amorim.

No Chelsea plans over Maignan deal

There has been a lot of talk about whether Chelsea will go back in for Mike Maignan after failing with a move for the AC Milan goalkeeper before the Club World Cup.

But Fabrizio Romano claims the Blues are not planning to revisit a deal for Maignan this summer.

Romano says “talks with AC Milan and agents are off since 12 days ago” and that Chelsea “maintain their confidence in the goalkeepers they have”.

Arsenal 'agree' first summer deal

As well as moving for Warren Zaire-Emery, Arsenal are said to have reached an agreement over a surprise deal for Leicester playmaker Bilal El Khannouss.

El Khannouss was one of the few shining lights for Leicester last season and Arsenal have agreed a deal with his agents, according to AfricaFoot.

The report claims Mikel Arteta believes the 21-year-old “can become a key part” of his midfield and has given the green light for the signing to proceed.

El Khannouss is a Morocco international and joined Leicester for £21million from Genk last season.

Liverpool close in on Guehi deal

It emerged last night that Marc Guehi is ready to run down his contract at Crystal Palace and join Liverpool on a free transfer next summer.

But fresh reports claim are ready to launch a move to sign the England centre-back this summer.

Team Talk say Liverpool are “very close” to reaching an agreement with the player on personal terms and that they are looking to “move quickly” to win the race to sign Guehi, with Newctasle and Arsenal still being linked with him.

The report says Palace value Guehi at £70m but will considering selling him for around £45m.

Chelsea have new defender target

Chelsea continue to target a new centre-back and Nottingham Forest defender Murillo has emerged as new target at Stamford Bridge.

Murillo starred for Forest last season and is valued at as much as £80million.

Chelsea continue to be linked with Sporting defender Ousmane Diomande but football.london report that Murillo is also now an option.

The Brazilian was one of the standout players in the Forest side that qualified for Europe last season and it is no surprise he is attracting transfer interest.
