Tunisia v Japan is the 1000th match in World Cup history

Tunisia v Japan in Monterrey on Sunday is officially the 1000th World Cup match since the tournament began in 1930.
According to L'Équipe, FIFA has produced a one-off referee shirt to mark the milestone.
Previous landmarks include the 200th game, England beating West Germany 4-2 after extra time in the 1966 final.
The 600th fixture ended 0-0 between France and Uruguay at the 2002 tournament.
The 700th saw France defeat Spain 3-1 in the 2006 round of 16.
The 900th corresponded to the 2018 final, France overcoming Croatia 4-2.
